Despite Kermit the Frog’s famous words about the struggles of being green, a puppy born in Florida with green fur has gained popularity on the internet because of her unusual, although temporary, coloring.

The little dog, who was given the fitting name Shamrock, entered the world on March 3rd and was already prepared for St. Patrick’s Day with its outfit.

Carole DeBruler, who owns Golden Treasures Kennel in Pensacola, Florida, started sharing photos and videos of the newborn puppies soon after they were born.

A dog recently gave birth to a green puppy, leaving the owner surprised and shocked by the unusual occurrence.

On March 26, a video was uploaded on TikTok that explained the special coloring of Shamrock, leading to the puppy becoming a viral sensation.

In the video that has been watched more than 8 million times, DeBruler explained that Shamrock’s unique coloring is the result of a rare condition where she was born with a green tint possibly caused by a substance called biliverdin in the mother dog’s womb.

Shamrock’s unique green fur made her easily distinguishable from her brothers and sisters, leading to her being named after the festive symbol. In the picture, Mama dog Ivey is seen with her litter. This image was shared by Golden Treasures Kennel on their social media account.

Although it may be surprising to see a dog with green fur, there is no need to worry as this color change is harmless and will naturally go away as the dog gets older.

Despite being slightly smaller than her siblings, Shamrock is described as happy and in good health by DeBruler in a subsequent video.

A video of a Chicago dog with green dyed fur to look like Grinch went viral on TikTok after the owner shared it.

DeBruler mentioned in a video posted on March 31 that a few weeks after she was born, the puppy’s green coloring was beginning to fade. Despite this, the puppy’s spirited personality was becoming more prominent.

Shamrock, the dog second from the left in the image, is smaller than her brothers and sisters but is in good health. The information is from Golden Treasures Kennel’s social media account.

Shamrock and her brothers and sisters belong to a breed called English cream golden retrievers. This breed is characterized by having a coat color that is lighter in shade compared to other golden retrievers.

A cat with striking green eyes is available for adoption at an animal rescue agency. She is described as being very attractive.

Fox News Digital contacted the owner of the dogs.

Shamrock is approaching two months of age and her once prominent green coloring has started to fade. The photo was shared by Golden Treasures Kennel on their Instagram page.
